Hetmyer waited six more frustrating deliveries to bring up his second score of over fifty. He had already registering a century in only his 10th innings.

Despite Hetmyer and Holder’s efforts, the asking rate continued to climb as the hosts were 140-4 in the 35th over heading into drinks.

The young Berbician Hetmeyer was dismissed with the second ball after the drinks break, playing left arm seamer, Mustafizur Rahman softly into the hands of Al Hasan at midoff for 52 from 78 balls inclusive of five fours. Rovman Powell edged to the ‘keeper the very next ball as Rahman sat on a hatrick.

After hitting Mortaza for a boundary, Holder miscued the next delivery into the hands of Mosaddek Hossain for a spirited 17. The lower order continued the resistance with Russell sending Rahman on the roof of the Red Stand then driving him down the ground for a boundary.

Russell tried it one too many times only to be caught inches off the boundary by Mahmudullah as Mortaza claimed his third victim and later removed Nurse to end with figures of 4-37.

The last wicket stand of 59 unbroken between Alzarri Joseph and Bishoo frustrated the Bangladesh bowlers as the found the boundary ropes often. The pair both notched up their highest totals in the format with both cracking 29 not out with five fours and two sixes amongst them.

Bishoo brought up the 50 partnership, the only one of the innings, with a quick double after Miraz put down a skier.

The next match is scheduled for Wednesday at the same venue, this time the first ever day and night match at the ground beginning from 14:30 hrs.
