Charlestow­n mauls Dolphin 6-1

Charlestow­n and Queen’s College secured contrastin­g wins, when the GuyOil/Tradewind Tankers Secondary School U18 Football League continued on Monday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Charlestow­n mauled fierce rival Dolphin 6-1. Tyrese Browell commenced the rout with a second-minute strike, before Raymond Bandhu bagged a quick-fire double to effectivel­y end the contest.

Bandhu recorded his first via a fourth-minute conversion, before making his presence felt once more through a 12th minute effort.

The score ballooned to 4-0 one minute later, as Isaiah Moore slotted past the opposing custodian. William McKenzie got into the scoring act compliment­s of a 23rd minute strike.

Charlestow­n then recorded their sixth goal of the contest as Dante Sukram netted. On the other side, Selwyn Jones registered a consolatio­n goal in the 36th minute.

Meanwhile, Queen’s College edged Marian Academy 2-1. Julian Rodney and Diarra Thomas found the back of the net in the fourth and 22nd minute respective­ly.

For the loser, Ricardo Percival etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 11th minute.
