Party for People’s Power will be launched shortly

-

Dear Editor,

The no-confidence motion called by the opposition leader Mr Bharrat Jagdeo and supported by former AFC parliamentarian Mr Charrandas Persaud has brought to an end, the APNU+AFC coalition government, described as the most expensive government in Guyanese history.

Unprecedented in Guyanese history, the noconfidence motion has precipitated what most likely will be a decisive clash between the more than six decades old political parties, the PPP and the PNC. The stakes are high and the nature of Guyanese politics being the winner takes all!

The PPP is quite confident of winning in the aftermath of their success at the local government elections of November 12, 2018, thus sending the PNC back into the political wilderness never to return again. The PNC is well aware of this dreadful end and out of sheer desperation, will try anything to delay or prevent the inevitable loss of political power. The irony and tragedy which is yet to unfold is that a victorious PPP returns to office with the fraudulent/autocratic 1980 Constitution fully intact to continue to plunder our country.

It is not all gloom as the no-confidence motion has brought to the surface new social forces which collectively can break the 60-yearold cycle of race politics and all its attendant evils of corruption, nepotism, political discrimination etc.

The Guyana United Artists (GUA) has been in the forefront for radical changes in the fraudulent 1980 constitution and reforms to the Elections Commission, disallowing contesting parties to have members on the commission. The GUA is prepared to work with other patriotic Guyanese, professionals, specialists in agriculture, education, international relations and members of the working class, to transform Guyana into a better place

We will be shortly launching the Party for People’s Power (PFPP). Our logo is the clenched fist which symbolises unity and strength. The PFPP is in the process of formulating our Elections Manifesto. We do not have all the answers. We need qualified and committed Guyanese with special skills to serve our country. Not people who are interested in taking up government offices only to be paid handsomely and to fill their pockets.

If you feel the PFPP is the way forward, then join us, be part of the leadership, put your ideas into reality, help to finance our campaign so that we can, with the available time, cover the major administrative centres of Guyana. Support our campaign to bring an end to the more than 60 years of racism, tension, insecurity and other social vices that poison our relationship as a people. Contribute to the empowerment of all Guyanese by giving recognition to the constitutional rights of all Guyanese to be a truly independent people founded on justice and fair play, and for a better place for our younger generation who will inherit and benefit from our struggle today.

Don’t allow anything that the PPP or PNC have activated in your mind to prevent you from fulfilling your destiny. People’s Power. Yours faithfully
