Stewart propels One-n-Move to Street-ball c/ships

-

A Most Valuable Player [MVP] performance from Orville Stewart propelled One-n-Move to the 2nd Annual Mocha Village Cup Street-ball Championship, downing Family 2-0 on Saturday at the Mocha Arcadia Community Centre.

The large gathering that descended on the venue, played witness to a brilliant individual performance from the utility player, who bagged a double highlighted by conversions on either side of the halftime interval.

With the first period of the 40 minute encounter moments away from the halftime interval, Stewart made his presence felt as he etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 19th minute.

The goal resulted following a wayward pass by Shamar Jones, who lost possession, conceding a two-onone situation and duly Stewart slammed his effort into the back of the net following a pass from Wendell Joseph.

Stewart’s impressive showing continued in the second period as he tallied his second in the 29th minute, effectively sealing the title.

His second conversion mirrored his first goal as he calmly slotted home to extinguish any hopes of a Family comeback, following another two-on-one situation which emanated after Kevin Agard lost possession.

Due to the outcome, One-n-Move received $100,000 and the winner’s trophy while the losers collected $50,000 and the corresponding accolade.

Meanwhile, Big Ballers downed Dream Team 2-0 on penalty kicks in the third place playoff.

The game was tied 1-1 after regulation and extra time ended. Prior to the penalty shoot-out, Eon Cameron handed Big Ballers the lead in the sixth minute.

However, Kester Alleyne equalised as he converted in the 15th minute. With the win, Big Ballers walked away with $25,000. On the other hand, Dream Team pocketed $10,000.

In the earlier semi-final round, One-n-Move dismissed Dream Team 2-0. Wendell Joseph recorded a brace in the 15th and 27th minute.

In the other semi-final fixture, Family crushed Big Ballers by an identical scoreline. Kevin Agard amassed two goals in the sixth and 17th minute.
