The couple Munishwar Ramkellawan, 36, a businessman, of Eteringbang Landing, Cuyuni River, and Marianny Martinez, 26, a Venezuelan national, were discovered dead on Friday afternoon by an employee.

The couple shared a common-law relationship and operated a fuel business in the community.

Commander of ‘F’ Division, Kevin Adonis told Stabroek News that their investigations are continuing and investigators are awaiting the results of the autopsy together with the case file.

The police estimate that the couple met their demise sometime between 3 am and 5.15 pm on Friday.

Investigations have so far revealed that on Thursday afternoon, Ramkellawan and Martinez were seen by persons in the community consuming alcohol. They continued to do so into the wee hours of Friday morning. An eyewitness told police of hearing an argument between the couple during the course of Friday morning. They later went into their home where the argument continued and sometime after, the eyewitness said, two suspected gunshots were heard.

A 9mm Taurus pistol and eight live rounds were found between the couple bodies. Two spent shells were also recovered from the scene by the investigators.
