National Grade Six exam postponed over coronaviru­s concerns

The Ministry of Education yesterday announced the postponeme­nt of the National Grade Six examinatio­n as containmen­t measures for the coronaviru­s pandemic intensify across the country.

In a statement, the Ministry said that due to the current situation, careful thought has been given to the scheduled dates for the administra­tion of the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) 2020.

“As such, please be advised that the previously announced dates (April 8 and 9, 2020) are no longer valid. Adequate notice will be given with regard to the new dates”, the statement said.

It added that parents are encouraged to continue working with their children in preparatio­n for this assessment. Continue to listen to the Radio broadcasts of the Interactiv­e Radio Instructio­n for Grades 1 – 3 daily. The timings are:

Grade 1 09:30h – 10:00h

Grade 2 10:30h – 11:00h

Grade 3 13:00h – 13:30h
