Lusignan contractor was shot five times - autopsy

-

Well-known contractor Kissoondatt Premsukh, who was gunned down at a construction site at D’Urban Street last Thursday, sustained multiple gunshot wounds to various parts of his body, an autopsy has confirmed.

Hardat Premsukh, the older brother of the now dead man, related to this newspaper that the autopsy revealed that Kissoondatt was shot five times; once in the head, twice in the shoulders, once in the heart and once in one of his kidneys.

Regional Commander of Region 4 (A) Phillip Azore yesterday confirmed to this newspaper that the suspect that was previously taken into custody in connection with murder has since been released on bail.

In widely circulated surveillance footage seen by this newspaper, Kissoondatt, of Lusignan, was seen having a conversation with a pastor and his wife when he was attacked. In the video, a man clad in a long-sleeved brown shirt and a pair of black jeans walks up behind Premsukh and begins to discharge several rounds in his direction.

When the shooting begins, the pastor and his wife immediately dive for cover but the gunman never seems to even look in their direction. This has supported the speculation that Kissoondatt was the target of the attack.

According to a police brief, the victim was at a construction site on D’ Urban Street, Lodge, when an armed male approached him and discharged several rounds in his direction, causing him to suffer injuries to his head and back.

He was later taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival at about 6.13 p.m.
