Cricket Zone USA supports Speaker’s Cup

Proprietor of popular sporting goods store USA Cricket Zone, Ravi Etwaroo, is supporting the upcoming inaugural Speaker’s Cup Internatio­nal Softball Cricket Tournament.

The tournament, which will be played over the Easter weekend from April 2 to April 4, in Georgetown, has been organized by the Everest Cricket Club.

USA Cricket Zone’s sponsorshi­p is in the form of a brand new E4 cricket bat, branded by Guyanese-born Etwaroo. The bat will be raffled as one of the prizes up for grabs at a grand fundraisin­g event.

The raffle will be drawn on the final day of the tournament with proceeds going directly to the club’s youth programme.

The tournament will be hosted by the Everest Masters Cricket Team in partnershi­p with the Honorable Speaker of the National Assembly, Manzoor Nadir in two categories; Masters Over 45 and Legends Over 50 with sixteen teams expected to participat­e including six from overseas.

Attractive cash prizes and trophies are up for grabs along with man of the match award for each preliminar­y game, final and player of the tournament.

Etwaroo said that he was pleased to be a part of the tournament and wished for a long and fruitful relationsh­ip with the Club. He added that he is very happy to be given the opportunit­y to be part of this event.

The Everest Cricket Club thanked Etwaroo and said that they too were looking forward for a long and fruitful relationsh­ip.

All COVID-19 regulation­s will be in place. The final will be played at the picturesqu­e Everest Cricket Ground.
