GBBFFI to brighten Xmas with senior bodybuilding c/ships
Fitness athletes get ready, the Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation Inc. (GBBFFI) has announced that the flagship national senior championships, scheduled for December 18, will be staged at the National Cultural Centre.
According to a release disseminated to the media yesterday, pending the approval of the National COVID-19 Task Force, the event will be attended by a vaccinated audience or streamed virtually.
The GBBFFI plans to collaborate with its partners to bring to the hardworking athletes, the bodybuilding and fitness fraternity and the entire Guyana its first seniors bodybuilding championship this year-end.
The event, a week prior to Christmas, is to celebrate life, health and fitness whilst promoting a healthy lifestyle and healthy living.
Once the hosting of the competition is approved by the Task Force, athletes, backstage personnel and the executive of the GBBFFI will undertake to observe all COVID19 protocols as gazetted by the Ministry of Health.
On the night of the competition, there will be about 30 athletes vying for trophies and cash prizes in the three different segments Bodybuilding, Miss Bikini and the popular Men’s Physique class.
Some athletes who have already signaled their intentions of competing include Darious Ramsammy, Nicholas Albert, Carlos Petterson-Grifith, Julio Sinclair, Emmerson Campbell, Renaldo Caldeira and Rosanna Fung.
While on stage, athletes will be required to stand six feet apart from each other and backstage, athletes will be required to wear masks and to maintain the mandatory physical distancing. Judges will be seated six feet apart and will be required to wear masks.
A prize structure will be announced subsequently.
