Dell Superbet sends stern warning to rest of teams
Dell Superbet and Lack Ah Scene recorded commanding wins while Agricola and City tallied hardfought wins in the 4th Mocha Village Cup on Saturday evening at the Basketball Tarmac.
Dell Superbet sent a stern warning to the remaining competitors as they whipped Gold Strikers 7-1. Five different scorers etched their names on the scorer’s sheet in the lopsided contest. Colin Peters and Amos Ramsay led the assault with respective doubles.
Completing the scoreline was the trio of Raushan Ritch, Rondel Heywood, and Kevin Gordon who scored one goal apiece. For Gold Strikers, Wendell Austin tallied a consolation goal.
Likewise, Lack Ah Scene maintained their championship aspirations with a deserved 3-1 victory over Red Force. The wily Sheldon Holder dismantled the opposing backline, as fashioned a hat-trick. For the losers, Azariel Campbell scored.
Former winners Agricola, squeaked past Ballerz Empire 1-0. Bilal Jabar found the back of the net to settle the outcome.
Similarly, dark-horses City overcame Touches by a 2-1 scoreline. The experienced and formidable combination of Eusi Phillips, and Jermaine Junor made their presence felt with respective conversions. On target in the loss was Lloyd Matthews.
The tournament will resume tomorrow evening at the same venue with another round of elimination
matches. The grand final is penciled for July 3rd.
