Beterverwagting (BV) upset Gold is Money by a 1-0 score-line when the One Guyana Futsal Championship continued on Thursday evening at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
BV upset Gold is Money by a 1-0 score-line. Anthony Forrester found the back of the net in the 10th minute, uncorking a powerful left footed strike from the right side into the left corner. Meanwhile, Stabroek Ballers, Melanie, and Bagotstown also recorded group stage victories.
Stabroek Ballers defeated Wismar All-Stars 3-2. Bevney Mark bagged a hat-trick in the first, second, and 19th minute. For the loser, Omar Williams fashioned a double in the third and 22nd minute.
On the other hand, Bagotstown dismissed Timehri 4-1. Kellon Gordon tallied a hat-trick in the 16th, 25th, and 30th minute, whilst Simeon Hackett added a conversion in the 17th minute. For the loser, Stevie Petrie netted in the 28th minute.
Likewise, Melanie bested Footsteppers 3-1. The trio of Odel Gulliver, Emmanuel Lewis, and Philip Williams scored in the fifth, 15th, and 19th apiece. On target in the loss was Orlando Forde in the 14th minute.
The event continues tomorrow at the same venue with another round of matches. The winner of the tournament will pocket $1,000,000 and the championship trophy, while the second, third, and fourthplace finishers will receive $500,000, $200,000, and $100,000 respectively. On the individual side, the Most Valuable Player of the event will receive a motorcycle.
