Swag, Silver Bullets, and ‘Everybody Got It’ record wins in Linden Guinness
Defending champion Swag Entertainment, Silver Bullets, Axe, Universal Ballers, and Everybody Got It recorded contrasting wins when the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Linden Championship resumed on Wednesday evening at the Amelia Ward/Wisroc Car Park.
Swag Entertainment edged Silver City Valley 1-0 on sudden death penalty kicks, after regulation time ended 1-1. Prior to the end, Donovan Francis netted for the defending champion in the fourth minute whilst Robin Adams equalized for Silver City Valley in the seventh minute.
Similarly, Silver Bullets squeaked past Top Strikers 2-1 on sudden death penalty kicks after normal time ended scoreless.
Also, Everybody Got It defeated Amazings 2-1 on penalty kicks after regulation time ended 1-1. Prior to the eventual conclusion, Jermaine Grandison handed Amazings the lead in the fourth minute, only for Jamal Peters to equalize in the 11th minute.
Meanwhile, Axe mauled Turf Kings by a 3-1 score-line. Notambu Akbar bagged a double in the sixth and 12th minute whilst Dwayne Hamilton netted in the 10th minute. For the loser, Kevon Haynes found the back of the net in the 11th minute.
Likewise, the Turf President unit dismissed Goodfellas 2-0. Jermaine Mason and Malachi Todd etched their name on the scorer’s sheet in the sixth and 10th minute respectively.
On the other hand, Universal Ballers downed Genasyde 1-0 compliments of a Mortimer Giddings conversion in the eighth minute. The tournament continues on Wednesday, May 3rd at the same venue.
The winner of the event will pocket $400,000 and the championship trophy, whilst the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will receive $200,000, $150,000, and $80,000 respectively.
