The Guyana Football Federation (GFF), its President Wayne Forde and General Secretary Ian Alves are being sued by former executive committee member Keith O’Jeer over his suspension as Berbice Football Association (BFA) President in 2018.

O’Jeer was suspended in April 2018 by the GFF for alleged inappropriate conduct. The suspension followed a meeting with the GFF Executive Committee. O’Jeer is also seeking damages. Court documents were filed in March.

(c) An Order of Certiorari quashing his suspension. (d) An Order of Prohibition prohibiting and or restraining the GFF from proceeding and or continuing with any investigation in any form or manner whatsoever into allegations made against him. (e) Damages in the sum of $7,200,000 as payment due to the Applicant as Academy Training Centre Coach of the GFF. (f) Damages in the sum of $4,800,000 as payment due to the Applicant as Executive Member of the GFF. (g) Damages in the sum of $8,400,000 as payment due to the Applicant as Technical Director Liaison of the GFF. (h) An Order compelling the Respondents to produce a copy of the Report prepared and submitted by Major Murray to the said Respondents. (i) A hearing of this matter on an expedited basis.

GFF President Forde when contacted by Stabroek Sport for a comment said, “No comment on that story.”

Although details surrounding O’Jeer’s suspension had not been revealed by the federation, it was disclosed by sources that the incident in question was brought to light by a prominent member of the football fraternity. O’Jeer was quietly replaced by then Upper Demerara Football Association President, Terrence Mitchell, at the 2019 Congress.
