Yesterday, originally to be the fourth and final day of the match, produced a noteworthy performance with the bat from middle order batter Kevlon Anderson who stroked an unbeaten 83 to put his side (Adams XI) back in contention in their second innings after Nandu’s XI had resumed the day in their first innings and forged ahead with a lead of 91.

Thanks to Anderson’s knock, the Adams XI overhauled that lead to open up an advantage of 48 in their second turn with the bat.

Earlier in the day, Nandu’s XI had resumed on 119/2 (44 overs) in response to Adams XI’s 144 all out on the first day. Top scorer Ronaldo Ali Mohamed with a well-played 69 in addition to valuable contributions from Shamar Yearwood (39) and Kemol Savoury (21) built on openers Matthew Nandu (43) and Raymond Perez (41) foundation to add 116 more runs before the side was bowled out in the 74th over. Zeynul Ramsammy was the pick of Adams XI’s bowlers with 3/23 (5.1 overs) and received support from Junior Sinclair (2/63) and skipper Antony Adams (2/46).

Staring at a deficit of 91, Adams XI lost both openers relatively early and were looking at another collapse akin to the first innings effort. However, Anderson was in full flow during his 83 not out with Akshaya Persaud (19 not out) keeping his company until stumps to take their side to 139/2.

The match will resume at 9:30 am today for the final day of action with Adams XI on 139/2 (29 overs) as they look to build a sizable lead before giving Nandu’s men a chance with the bat.
