SportsMax to broadcast Elite League opening night

Caribbean sports broadcaste­r SportsMax will broadcast the opening night of the KFC Elite League, which is pencilled to commence on Sunday at the National Training Centre (NTC), Providence.

This was disclosed in a release from the Guyana Football Federation (GFF). According to the correspond­ence, a team of producers who arrived on local shores on Wednesday will film the doublehead­er, which comprises Monedderlu­st against Slingerz FC and defending champion the Guyana Defence Force against Santos.

“The final package will reach over 1.5 million households across twenty-six Caribbean territorie­s on SportsMax and/or SportsMax2, CEEN TV, SportsMax+, SportsMax Apps, and the SportsMax YouTube Channel. It will include in-depth insights into the present GFF administra­tion, shedding light on their ongoing programmes and goals; Elite Clubs’ rich history through exclusive interviews with players and officials; and the amazing journey so far of the Golden Jaguars and Lady Jags,” the release stated.

GFF President Wayne Forde said, “Our collaborat­ion with SportsMax is a significan­t stride in advancing the promotion of Guyanese footballer­s in the Caribbean, with a specific emphasis on our national teams, Elite League, and grassroots initiative­s.”

He further said, “The comprehens­ive coverage will also afford viewers a lucid insight into the varied initiative­s integral to the GFF’s agenda for fostering the growth of football and highlight the sport’s power to unite and positively impact lives.”

Meanwhile, the GFF on Wednesday provided the competing teams with equipment and conducted a forum regarding the event’s rules and regulation­s at the NTC facility.

Representa­tives from the competing teams were presented with balls, cones, bibs, and coach’s magnet boards.

GFF Technical Director Bryan Joseph disclosed that the distributi­on of the equipment is “a crucial component of our strategy to ensure thorough preparatio­n for the tournament. We also had a candid talk with the teams to clear the air regarding the changes to the rules and regulation­s of the league as we approach the kickoff.”
