Según la tradición, La Gruta fue hecha por indicaciones del comandante de armas, J. Inés Pérez, quien la construyó para cumplir una promesa que hizo, ya que ocultándose en la cueva logró escapar con vida de sus enemigos. La ermita está dedicada a la Virgen de la Inmaculada Concepción y es el escenario utilizado para las representaciones religiosas de Semana Santa. According to tradition, La Gruta was built by instructions of the arms commander J. Inés Pérez, who built it to fulfill a promise he did, after hiding in the cave and managing to escape alive from his enemies. The hermitage is dedicated to the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception and is the setting used for the religious representations of Holy Week.
