FUERTE DE SAN CRISTÓBAL

Ubicado en lo alto del cerro de San Cristóbal en la ciudad de Gracias, este fuerte además de ser impresionante, tiene vistas espectaculares de la ciudad. Su nombre “Fuerte de San Cristóbal” significa “el que lleva a Cristo”, y es también conocido como Cristóforo, que en griego significa “porta Cristo”. Se dice que este fuerte fue inspirado por el Fuerte de

San Fernando de Omoa (en la ciudad de Omoa, Cortés). En la entrada, se pueden apreciar dos cañones que fueron llevados de la Fortaleza de San Fernando de Omoa. Se construyó en un área de terreno de 59,992.74 mts2, y solamente cuenta con una nave rectangular de dos fachadas. El edificio está hecho de adobe y revestimientos de cal y arena.
