THE FAMILY TRAVELLER

Kuala Lumpur has plenty to do if you’re travelling with young kids. My three-yearold daughter loves the Mini Zoo next to KL Tower, which is also a petting zoo.

Kuala Lumpur Bird Park is great for kids to learn about the different species of birds. Look out for the peacocks roaming around the walk-in aviary.

For a day trip, try Sunway Lagoon, a theme park southwest of the city. Older kids will love the amusement park rides and water slides in the wet zone; while little ones can play on the manmade beach.

If you prefer to escape indoors (where there’s air conditioni­ng), Aquaria, at the Convention Centre, is filled with sharks, otters and turtles.

如果你與年幼子女一起­旅行,吉隆坡有不少適合一家­大小前往觀光的地方。的我三歲女兒非常喜歡­少吉坡鄰 隆 塔的迷你動物園,這裡容許遊人撫摸及餵­養園內的小動物。

湖濱園公 附近的吉隆坡雀鳥公園,也是個值得遊一 的好去處小。 朋友可以在園內看到品­種各異的雀鳥及了解牠­們的特性,有趣又益。智 別忘了到可遊供 人入內的大型鳥舍,欣賞昂首闊步走來走去­的漂亮孔。雀

如果想待在室內有空的­調 地方,則可前往吉隆坡會展中­心的城中城水族館。館內有各種海洋生物, 括魚鯊 、水獺及海龜等,令人目不暇給。

THE WEEKENDER

The Unesco World Heritage-listed city of Malacca, just a two-hour drive away from KL, offers an ideal weekend getaway.

Kick off your visit with a chicken rice ball – a Malacca speciality – on Jonker Walk. Try Chung Wah or Hoe Kee. Just come early as the queues can be long.

Explore the city’s history with the Malacca River Cruise, a 40-minute ride along a waterway that was once a trade centre for the Malacca Sultanate, taking in local villages and old warehouses set against the cityscape.

No trip is complete without Peranakan food, which marries the immigrant Chinese and local Malay flavours. Try ayam pongteh (braised chicken in sweet bean paste) and ikan goreng cili garam (deepfried fish with spicy chilli).

周末一日遊

名列聯合國教科文組織­世界遺產的馬六甲,距離隆吉 坡只有兩小時車程,末是周 度假的理想之選。

抵埗後,先往雞場街一嚐馬六甲­道地食美 雞飯糰,中華茶室與和記雞飯同­樣遠近聞名,外店 經常出龍現人 ,記住早點去排隊。

然後可加參 Malacca River Cruise的40分­鐘遊河船 行程,暢遊昔日馬六甲蘇丹王­朝時用作商業貿易樞紐­的水道,索探 古城歷史。沿河兩岸既有本村地 莊與古老的倉庫,亦有現代城市景觀,形成新舊對照,反映這座城市經歷的變­化。

沒有嚐過娘惹菜,馬六甲之行就不算圓。滿 這種菜式將隨中國移民­而來的中菜與本地馬來­口味融合,別具特色。不妨嚐嚐其中的aya­m pongteh(豆醬雞炆 )及ikan goreng cili garam(辣炸椒 魚)。

THE FOODIE

With the city’s invigorati­ng mix of Malay, Chinese and Indian food, it’s easy to see why my favourite weekend activity is eating.

Nasi lemak is widely considered to be the national dish: rice cooked in coconut milk, served with sambal (a local spicy sauce), fried peanuts, anchovies and chicken. Village Park Restaurant’s is one of my favourites.

Klang – a town 40 minutes away – is the home of bak kut teh. This Chinese dish has a broth infused with herbs and spices like cinnamon and star anise, and loaded up with pork ribs, mushrooms and tofu puffs.

Banana leaf rice is another quintessen­tial Malaysian experience: steamed rice heaped on a banana leaf with a load of sides and Indian curries. Try the one at Sri Ganapathi Mess in Petaling Jaya.

美食家

吉隆坡美匯食 聚了馬來、中華與印度風味所, 以我最愛周喜 的末活就動, 是到處覓食。

椰漿飯被視為馬來西亞­的國菜,用椰漿煮飯後,再配以參巴辣醬、酥脆花生、小魚乾及雞肉等即成。我喜最 愛Village Park Restaurant­餐廳的椰漿飯。

如你果為求美食,不介意路途遙遠的,話妨不 到40分鐘車程的巴生­市,這是肉骨茶的發源地。這道中式美用食 排加骨入肉桂、八角等香料熬成湯,再配上香菇及豆卜等配­料,就是豐富又美的味 一餐適,最宜與親朋好友一同分­享。

香蕉葉飯也是一道馳的­名 馬來西亞經典美:食 在一片香蕉葉放上一堆­白飯,旁邊再加上各式配菜和­印度咖哩。位於八打靈再也的Sr­i Ganapathi Mess餐廳供應美味­的香蕉葉飯,值得試一 。
