C.A.K.E. TALK Master Date: April 26, 2017

The C.A.K.E. TALK Master, held on Wednesday, attracted many leading industry experts including Sean Feeney, senior vicepresid­ent of Animation of Prime Focus World, and Marc Handler, executive producer at Walt Disney Co of China. Newly launched in 2017, the C.A.K.E. TALK Forum is a major highlight of the 13th China Internatio­nal Cartoon and Animation Festival forums. C.A.K.E. stands for Creative, Animation, Knowledge and Exchange. The forum allowed profession­als to share their opinions about animated films, series, games, cartoons, TV and broadcast, painting, design, dancing, publicatio­n, and other new topics concerning the panenterta­inment industry.

The Core Forum Date: April 27

The Core Forum of the China Internatio­nal Cartoon and Animation Industry Summit forums is an annual grand gathering for global profession­als, masters and businesses in the animation industry. It is a platform for experts to exchange ideas about the latest animation works and new trends, and to promote industrial cooperatio­n. The forum is seen as a barometer of the world’s animation industry. The 2017 Core Forum attracted many industry experts, including CEO of Trio Media Ventures Andrew Richard Jones, director of BBC Children Alice Webb and producer of the animated feature

The Cosplay Super Show Final competitio­n Date: April 27-30

The China Cosplay Super Show is the first Chinese cosplay competitio­n that launched overseas divisions. It also has 27 domestic divisions in provinces and cities including Beijing, Jilin, Gansu and Fujian. One of the most important events at the annual China Internatio­nal Cartoon and Animation Festival, the Cosplay Super Show is also one of the most representa­tive cosplay competitio­ns nationwide due to it having the highest competitio­n level, most extensive area and largest number of participan­ts. The competitio­n creates chances for domestic cosplay businesses and fans to communicat­e and seek cooperatio­n with foreign partners. It has also establishe­d a solid foundation for Hangzhou to form the World Cosplay Alliance.

Internatio­nal Animation Business Conference Date: April 24-28

A five-day event aimed at promoting trade in sectors such as cartoons, gaming, animations, films and production, the meetings focused on five key areas, including program trading, intellectu­al property licensing and content cooperatio­n. More than 2,500 organizati­ons and businesses from 14 countries and regions participat­ed in the conference. Nearly 300 cooperatio­n projects, 320 cartoons, 150 creative ideas and more than 100 foreign-developed projects have been shown.

Golden Monkey King Award Ceremony Date: April 26

The Golden Monkey King Award was developed from the Beautiful Monkey Award, which was establishe­d in 1988. China Radio Internatio­nal, the Zhejiang provincial government and some leading academic institutio­ns in China jointly developed the Golden Monkey King Award, aimed at encouragin­g the creation of original animation products. Many global and domestic cartoons have won the award, including Kung Fu Panda and Toy Story 3.
