Shanghai-based CEO wishes for enhanced environmental businesses

As mentioned above, also numerous representatives from companies took part in the SinoItalian Advanced Training Program. Wei Wei, CEO of Shanghai Winner Environmental Technologies Co Ltd, participated in March 2014 as a trainee; she sent us the below contribution and stated the program is “practical and far-reaching”.

As a professional in the water treatment industry, I have personally benefited from the Sino-Italian Advanced Training Program on Water Management and Water Treatment Technology.

The training gave me a deeper conceptual understanding of the principles of ecological and environmentally friendly management of water, through the theoretical study of both Italy and China and the observational study of international projects.

It also widened my vision of the design and construction of modern water treatment systems, and introduced me to new technologies that have great usefulness during any urbanization process.

In today’s China, against a background of stricter environmental policies, with the accelerated upgrading of industrial systems, and with the soaring demand for more and more stringent environmental controls, I believe the business interest of Sino-Italian venture can and will transfer its focus on the green development in China.

Italy has modern solutions and equipment that can easily be assimilated into the Chinese market if Italian companies work through localization initiatives.

Public-private-partnership projects, which include development of sizable catchment lakes for water treatment, provide meaningful opportunities.

Italian companies can partner with Chinese State-owned enterprises and other interesting Chinese companies to improve water resource protection and ensure sustainable ecological management.

Italian enterprises can also be of great support in municipal sewage and water supply projects, to develop more refined and data-driven ways to make the use of resources more efficient and the recycling processes more effective.

As a result, companies in this sector may improve their capacity to balance the costs of capital expenditure and operational expenditure, eventually reducing manufacturing costs. Earlywarning management and localization will become the norm in processes, such as manufacturing of industrial chemicals, electronics, pharmaceuticals, leather goods, and refining. Market oriented environmental protection companies, armed with new technologies, can address problems such as high salinity, high toxicity, or heavy metal contamination of waste water.

The joint development of Chinese and Italian companies can support the progress of Chinese industries and provide opportunities for our Italian partners.

I have great confidence in the success of the coming ChinaItaly commercial cooperation in the environmental sector.
