Jin leaves COMAC for defense post

Jin Zhuanglong, 53, president of Commercial Aircraft Corp of China or COMAC, the producer of the C919, China’s first homegrown large passenger aircraft, has left the company. He was appointed member of the Central Commission of Civilian-Military Integratio­n. He joined COMAC in 2008. Prior to that, he was the secretaryg­eneral of the Commission for Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. Jin served as the commander-in-chief of the C919 project. He had said the C919 could lead to industrial scale manufactur­e of civilian aircraft in China, which would boost help further develop the domestic civil aviation industry. Zheng replaces Zhu as LeTV director

Zhu Ning, independen­t board of director of LeTV.com, recently quit the company for personal reasons. The board of directors nominated Zheng Lu as his replacemen­t. Zheng is from Sunac China Holdings Ltd, a Hong Kong-listed property developer. Before the nomination, another staffer from Sunac China, Liu Shuqing, joined the board of directors of LeTV.com. If Zheng’s nomintion is ratified by shareholde­rs, Sunac China will have two of its staff on the board of LeTV.com, guaranteei­ng a strong voice over important events of the company. Li is new chairman of Cathay Lujiazui Life

Cathay Lujiazui Life Insurance announced recently that Li Zuoqiang will become its fifth chairman. Li comes from Shanghai Lujiazui Financial Developmen­t Co Ltd, one of the major shareholde­rs of Cathay Lujiazui Life Insurance. The company’s fourth chairman was He Yong. During He’s tenure, the loss-making company turned profitable, and achieved a net profit of 100 million yuan ($14.6 million) in 2015. However, the company’s performanc­e was not very good last year, with net profit reaching only 7.13 million yuan. So, the new chairman is expected to bring new growth points to the company. Nadi Outdoor names Qin Jian as head

Nadi Outdoor Co Ltd, a metal products manufactur­er, recently appointed Qin Jian as the company’s second chairman. Qin owns 56.38 percent of the company’s shares. Qin, 48, joined the company in 2014. Prior to that, he was the executive chairman of another metal products company. His first job was as a teacher at a middle school. Yan at helm of China Overseas Land

China Overseas Land & Investment Ltd, the mainland’s fifth-largest builder in terms of sales, announced Yan Jianguo will be its new chairman. Xiaoxiao, former chairman, quit the company because of old age. The company has been aggressive­ly bidding for land in Hong Kong of late. Before joining COLI, Yan served as the executive chairman of Longfor Properties Co Ltd, a developer engaged in property developmen­t, investment and management. COLI’s sales revenue reached HK$211 billion ($27 billion) in 2016, up 16.6 percent year-on-year.
