Cai Hongbo to head e-clearing platform
Cai Hongbo, vice-president of the Payment and Clearing Association of China, was appointed chairman of the newly established online payment-clearing platform for non-banking institutions. Six nominated posts for the board of the platform went to representatives from Alipay of Alibaba Group, Tenpay from Tencent and Bestpay from China Telecom. The online platform started operations in March as an intermediary linking various mobile payment tools with Chinese banks. This will also facilitate better regulation. Its shareholders’ meeting will be held this week to select 13 board members and executive managers. Six executive managers join Leshi Internet
Leshi Internet Information and Technology Corp has hired six new executive managers. Liu Shuqing, general manager of the risk control center of Sunac China Holdings (Leshi’s major shareholder), was appointed senior vice-president. Liu will be in charge of its human resources, law issues, finance and administrative management, and report to CEO Liang Jun. Yuan Bin became chief technology officer to lead the internet, artificial intelligence and cloud computing departments. Tian Guoli moves from BoC to CCB
Tian Guoli, 58, chairman of Bank of China, stepped down this month and was appointed Party chief and nominated chairman of China Construction Bank. Tian started with CCB in 1983 after graduation and was promoted to assistant president in 1997. In 2011, he was hired as chairman of China CITIC Bank. He led Bank of China in 2013. Chen Siqing, 57, vice-chairman of the bank, succeeded Tian. Chen received his master’s degree in business administration from Australia’s Murdoch University in 1999, and then went on to work as senior economist and certified public accountant. Liu Shu set to drive Amazon’s Kindle content
Liu Shu, former senior vice-president and editor-inchief of media company ifeng.com, has left the company to join Amazon, where she will be in charge of the content and production of Kindle. During her ifeng stint from 2010, Liu helped transform the politics-focused media outlet into a comprehensive content platform covering fashion, entertainment and technology. Since graduating in journalism from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Liu has gathered about 20 years of experience in the industry. ZNV Tech snares Xu Ming from ZTE Corp
Xu Ming, assistant president of mobile phone manufacturer ZTE Corp, was appointed chairman and chief executive officer of Shenzhen ZNV Technology Co, a contract manufacturer that supplies to ZTE. Xu has worked with ZTE for more than 15 years. After the reassignment, he will lead strategic planning and operations of ZNV. Xu said the company would focus on areas like dynamic supervision, safe city, cloud service and communication technology to produce more tailored and innovative products.
