Charity information openness platform

-

To meet the requirements of the Charity Law in terms of information transparency, the Ministry of Civil Affairs has developed a national charity information openness platform, which started operation on Friday.

Releasing charity-related information on a unified platform is a significant institutional arrangement of the Charity Law. The platform will facilitate charity events, regulate charity activities, and protect the legal rights of charity organizations, donors, volunteers, beneficiaries as well as other participants in charity activities, in order to promote social progress and enable the entire society to share the fruits of economic and social development.

Charities are required to release annual working reports, financial and accounting statements and implementation schedules of charity work through the platform. And the charities that plan to organize public donation activities should first get the official approval for such activities after fulfilling the necessary application procedure.

The platform provides information input, reviews, and information dissemination and browsing services for civil affairs departments at various levels, and for charities and their trustees. Parties involved in charity activities are required to actively use and help improve the platform. More importantly, the Ministry of Civil Affairs’ statistical work and review of charity activities will be based on the data provided by the platform.
