These 10 were caught in the anti-graft net

• Zhou Yongkang, 75, former chief of national security, was sentenced to life in prison in June 2015 for offering bribes, abuse of power and leaking State secrets.

• Xu Caihou, former Army general and vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission, was expelled from the Party and discharged from the military in 2014 for accepting bribes. He died from bladder cancer in March 2015 at age 71.

• Su Rong, 69, former vicechairm­an of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultati­ve Conference, was sentenced to life imprisonme­nt in January for bribery and abuse of power.

• Ling Jihua, 61, former minister in charge of the CPC Central Committee’s United Front Work Department, was sentenced to life imprisonme­nt in July last year for offering bribes, abuse of power and illegally obtaining State secrets.

• Sun Zhengcai, 54, former Party chief of Chongqing, was placed under investigat­ion in July for “serious violations of Party discipline”. Last month, he was expelled from the Party and dismissed from public office.

• Yang Xiuzhu, 71, former deputy director of constructi­on for Zhejiang province, spent 13 years on the run in the United States. After she returned to China in November last year, Yang confessed to offering bribes and embezzleme­nt.

• Huang Yurong, 66, former Party chief of the Henan Provincial Highway Administra­tion, fled to the United States in 2002 after being suspected of offering bribes. She returned voluntaril­y to China in December 2015 and made a full confession.

• Yan Yongming, 47, former chairman of Tonghua Golden-Horse Pharmaceut­ical Co in Jilin province, spent 15 years in hiding in New Zealand. He returned to China in November last year, and confessed that he had embezzled large sums.

• Li Huabo, 54, a former financial official in Poyang, Jiangxi province, was sentenced to life in prison in January for embezzleme­nt. He was repatriate­d to China from Singapore in May 2015 after spending four years on the run.

• Chu Shilin, 60, former chairman of Qingdao Anhuashiye Co, pleaded guilty to embezzleme­nt charges in January last year following his return to China after four years on the run in Canada.
