Messages from the NPC delegations’ open day
We’ll continue to eliminate the pernicious influence of the two corrupt officials Bo Xilai and Sun Zhengcai, as well as set up our new code of conduct. Under the leadership of the Party, and thanks to the General Secretary’s support and guidance, Chongqing is marching ahead, united and confident. The future of Chongqing will be much better. Chen Min’er, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chongqing Party secretary, NPC deputy
Yunnan province would rather sacrifice its tourism revenue to continue promoting strict regulations, bringing happy experiences to tourists, with government services available anywhere and
anytime. The provincial government clamped down on budget tours featuring low-cost and coercive shopping last year, with 1,443 cases investigated and fines of 19 million yuan ($3 million) imposed. Thirty-seven business licenses and 10 tour guide certificates were revoked, and 19 A-class tourist attractions were censured. Tourist complaints about accommodation, travel agencies and the management of scenic spots dropped 27 percent last year compared with 2016. Ruan Chengfa, governor of Yunnan province, NPC deputy
Hainan province should have the determination to reduce the local economy’s dependence on the real estate sector. The government will introduce more measures to ensure healthy development of the property
market. It will prevent speculative investment while meeting residential housing demand. The void left by the property sector needs to be filled by high-tech industries, tourism and healthcare. Shen Xiaoming, governor of Hainan province, NPC deputy
We’ve increased efforts to improve the availability of government services on the internet, and our aim is that administrative affairs can be approved online. Now, the average time that residents take to deal with affairs with government departments has decreased to about four days. We’ll take the opportunity of hosting the Digital China Construction Summit next month to further boost digital construction and establish an online center to help people deal with administrative affairs.
We will make the handling of affairs with government departments as easy as shopping online for both residents and businesses. Tang Dengjie, governor of Fujian province, NPC deputy
The economy in Jilin province has seen remarkable changes in the past five years. GDP grew from 1.19 trillion yuan to 1.53 trillion yuan ($187.8 billion to $241.4 billion) between 2012 and 2017. The province’s fixed-asset investment remained above the 1 trillion yuan mark over that period, with more than 70 percent of investment from the private sector. These achievements contradict the recent rhetoric about China’s so-called failing northeastern provinces. Bayanqolu, Party secretary of Jilin province, NPC deputy
