Training centers in Jilin, which are dedicated to teaching theory and policy related to the new era, have helped the ordinary people to learn about how the Party’s policies benefit everyone.

After the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held in Beijing in October, Jilin province set up the training centers throughout the province to promote the spirit of the Party’s 19th National Congress promoted and understood by local residents.

The Fenghe community of Lyuyuan district in Jilin’s capital Changchun, set up a training center and 10 training classrooms, themed with various topics including social governance, entrepreneurship, civilization habits and healthcare.

Liu Juncheng, a resident of the community, owns a workshop that mediates in neighborhood disputes.

“I am an old Party member, and was born in the community,” Lin said. “When the residents have troubles or family members have disagreements, I will come to help at once.

“In my view, family harmony is the most important part of a harmonious society,” Liu added. There are 57 speakers like Liu in Fenghe community.

Their mission, said Chong Shugang, senior lecturer of the Party school in the Lyuyuan district, is to “publicize the Party’s theory, guiding principle and policy to the public. We should let the ordinary people know how the Party’s policies benefit everyone.”

Hua Li, a community resident, said that, “Through the new-era training centers, we have a clearer theme for community activities. I feel closer to the Party and our community becomes cohesive.”

Liu Chuang is the youngest speaker in the Fenghe community. She said that the sharing experience is also a good opportunity to learn from other people.

“We should spread the message of the 19th CPC National Congress report and promote its focus on social governance at grassroots level,” she said.

Helping the public to learn about and appreciate the Party’s message isn’t just a matter of lectures; the Fenghe community has also launched a series of art activities.

For example, the community is holding story-telling and recital contests and has organized art performances, exhibitions, calligraphy and painting competitions with the theme of the Party’s 19th National Congress.

Wang Hongyan, secretary of the Party committee of Fenghe community, said: “These activities allow the residents to understand the theory in a variety of ways. We will expand our speaker team and continue to make efforts to carry out the spirit of the Party’s 19th National Congress.”
