Wu gets Oppo global role in marketing brass reshuffle
Smartphone-maker Oppo changed the portfolio of Wu Qiang (pictured), its vice-president for marketing in China, to overseas marketing. It also appointed Shen Yiren as its assistant vicepresident for marketing in China. Wu and Shen will report to Chen Mingyong, CEO. Chen said that expansion in overseas markets is of strategic importance to Oppo. The company views young talent as key to achieving its goals. Chen said Wu and Shen have extensive marketing experience and keen consumer insights. They will make greater contributions to the development of the company in their respective new positions, he said.
Wu Xiaobin to lead BeiGene’s China arm
Biopharmaceutical company BeiGene appointed Wu Xiaobin as president and general manager for its China arm. Wu will report to John Oyler, founder, CEO and chairman of BeiGene. The company has been focusing on molecularly targeted, immuno-oncology drugs for cancer treatment since its foundation. Oyler said Wu has been successful in establishing and operating the company’s systems in China. Wu’s experience enables him to establish an outstanding team and improve staff performance, Oyler said. Before joining BeiGene, Wu has been a manager at Pfizer China since 2009.
Shi leaves Baoying, but to serve as a consultant
Shi Binhai resigned as president of Baoying Babycare China on May 25 for personal reasons. But he will continue to serve as a consultant to support the work of Nie Huaiyu, executive vicepresident, who will drive Baoying China. Shi has 18 years of sales experience as a senior manager. He has worked in Tiens Group for 13 years and held various positions, including former director of global operations, and as president of its European and US operations. In 2013, he joined Greek company Starseeds Hellas SA as president. In 2015, he returned to China and joined a domestic sales company as a vice-president.
Bornschein, GM, to helm local unit of IFS
IFS, a global enterprise software developer, appointed Peter Bornschein as general manager for its Chinese operations. Bornschein will replace incumbent Raymond Lam, who was transferred to strategic partner development and business expansion department. Lam will be responsible for IFS’ Southeast Asia markets. Bornschein said he is pleased to lead IFS in China where opportunities abound, and will use his over 15 years of industry experience to exploit them.
Honeywell names Shen Bin as domestic head
Global electric appliances provider Honeywell appointed Shen Bin as president of its China operations. Shen will report directly to Shen Dali, president of high-growth business regions. Shen Bin is experienced in mergers and acquisitions, data analytics marketing and product design. Shen Dali said Honeywell has a long-term commitment to development in China, and he believes Shen Bin’s industry experience will help bring the company to a higher development level in the China market.
