China Unicom appoints Li Guohua as GM
Li Guohua (pictured), former general manager of China Post Group Corp, joined China Unicom as general manager, taking over from Lu Yimin who was transferred to China General Technology Group to serve there as general manager. Li has been working in the telecommunications industry since 1981. He joined China Post in 2006 as deputy general manager and was promoted to GM in 2012. According to science news website stdaily, Li’s major task after taking over will be the promotion of 5G-network construction. China Unicom announced in late June that it will run a series of tests in 2019 and commercialize 5G network in 2020.
China Post Group Corp appointed Liu Aili as general manager, to take over from Li Guohua, who joined China Unicom, according to news website Caixin. Liu has over 30 years of industry experience in telecommunications. Prior, Liu was a general manager at China Telecommunications Corp, or China Telecom. Liu was transferred to China Telecom in September 2017 from China Mobile Communications Corp, where he served as deputy general manager.
China Petrochemical Corp, better known as Sinopec Group, promoted Dai Houliang to chairman and Party secretary from general manager. Dai has over 20 years of industry experience. He served China Petroleum & Chemical Corp, a subsidiary of Sinopec, as a deputy director in charge of finance. He was transferred to parent Sinopec in 2008 and was appointed general manager in 2016. Dai is also an academic at the Chinese Academy of Engineering. According to news website ThePaper, Dai led a team to innovate in industry technology in 2016 and won the National Science and Technology Progress Award.
Liu Aili succeeds Li as GM at China Post Group Corp
Wuliangye Group Co Ltd, a State-owned supplier of baijiu (white liquor), reshuffled its management team, according to news website Sina. Zou Tao, former deputy Party secretary, is the new vice-chairman and deputy general manager at a subsidiary of the group. After taking over, Zou will be responsible for sales. The Sina report also stated that during Zou’s tenure, he had led a few projects in field research, and proposed new strategies for branding to achieve higher business growth. Zhao Dong, deputy chief engineer, has been promoted to deputy general manager for technology research and product development.
Beverage-maker China Huiyuan Juice Group Ltd appointed Wu Xiaopeng as CEO, effective July 16. After taking over, Wu said he will be responsible for management and daily operations of the group. According to news agency Xinhua, the company expects to boost its business and expand its market under Wu’s leadership. Prior to joining the group, Wu served State-owned company China Minmetals Corp as deputy general manager and director for finance.
