Premier Li calls for security for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor
China appreciates Pakistan’s efforts to ensure security for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and believes continuous endeavors will be made in such area to keep Chinese personnel, institutions and projects safe, Premier Li Keqiang told new Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan during a phone call on Monday.
Pakistan is China’s allweather strategic cooperative partner, and the two countries have supported each other despite the changes in the international scenario, Li said.
China firmly supports the South Asian neighbor’s endeavors to safeguard national security, stability and development, and is willing to strengthen pragmatic cooperation and coordination on major international issues, he said.
China appreciates the Khan’s positive stance over firms support for the corridor, a landmark project for bilateral cooperation, and hopes the two sides will make scientific planning for the corridor’s future development, the premier said.
China is willing to import more competitive, high-quality products from the country, he added.
Khan said China has supported his country during harsh times. The economic corridor has provided new opportunities for Pakistan’s development, he said, adding that Pakistan will do its utmost to keep Chinese people and projects safe.
