Sign language lawyer becomes social media star

When a lawyer posted a video in sign language about the danger of Ponzi schemes, his post went viral and hundreds of people with impaired hearing replied. They mentioned they had been victims of fraud and in some cases, domestic violence. Tang Shuai was simply trying to highlight possible legal services available to this sector when he posted the video on WeChat in February. After working as a sign language interprete­r in court for six years, Tang, 34, passed the national judicial examinatio­n and became a lawyer in 2012.

A child receives hope of life after organ donation

A 9-year-old Texas girl has the gift of a potentiall­y full and active life because of a donated heart after a teenager passed away. Brian Motelet, 15, of Missouri died suddenly after choking on food. Belle Kelm, 9, who has a severely enlarged heart, was the recipient of Brian’s heart. Brian’s family is finding comfort in knowing their son is making a difference, even after death. Brian’s mom, Eula, said. “I think organ donation is really important not only for people that need them. It has been important for us as well. It helps with the grieving process.”
