Arriving and leaving the NECC

Passengers arriving at Shanghai’s two airports — Hongqiao and Pudong, can find a service center after clearing customs within 500 meters in any direction to answer enquiries.

• By car

The expo venue has space to park more than 4,000 vehicles, according to Fu Haicong, chief architect of the East China Architectural Design & Research Institute responsible for the design of the expo venue. But to ensure efficiency, only cars with special permit issued by the organizers are allowed to enter the venue and surrounding areas during the expo.

• By public transportation

Two 8-meter-high elevated pedestrian walkways in the west and east connect the building with nearby public parking, buses, taxies and metro lines, which means people can easily travel from and to downtown Shanghai or even nearby Yangtze River Delta region cities.

• By metro

Visitors can take the metro to reach the NECC by getting off at the East Xujing Station on Line 2 located in the center of the NECC or Zhuguang Road Station on Line 17.

• By taxi

There are three taxi pick-up/dropoff points near the NECC; the P1 parking lot (taxi west drop-off point), Shenwu Road (taxi east drop-off point and ride-hailing drop-off point) and P5 parking lot (taxi pickup point).

Service for pickup point is from 3 pm to 8 pm.

• By bus

Visitors traveling from and to Shanghai’s downtown can choose Bus Line 71, an express bus line that runs between North Huangpi Road (near Shanghai’s downtown center, the People’s Square) and Shenkun Road terminal. Shuttle bus runs between the Shenkun Road terminal and the NECC’s P6 parking lot from 8 am to 8 pm. Bus Line 71 also operates an extended service to the NECC’s P1 parking lot from 3 pm to 7 pm, but at a lower frequency.
