The first China International Import Expo will be held from Monday to Saturday at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). Themed “New Era, Shared Future”, the CIIE will strengthen business ties, further open up the Chinese market and advance economic globalization.
As a representative of British manufacturers, Jaguar Land Rover will be showcasing its latest premium vehicles and cutting-edge technologies during the sixday exposition.
Jaguar I-PACE, the centerpiece of Jaguar Land Rover’s booth, is the carmaker’s first all-electric performance SUV, as well as the industry’s first of its kind production premium electric SUV. It’s beautiful, spacious and, being a Jaguar, exciting to drive. Also being showcased at the Expo are Jaguar’s F-PACE, the Range Rover and the Range Rover Velar.
“The first China International Import Expo provides a perfect platform to show to the world China’s ambition to further open up,” said Pan Qing, member of the board of management of Jaguar Land Rover and executive director of Jaguar Land Rover China. “Like other global enterprises, Jaguar Land Rover eye-witnessed, participated in, contributed and benefited from reform and opening-up. Therefore, we highly welcome China’s pledge to further open up and feel honored to attend this expo, demonstrating our technological innovations and the unique British experience to Chinese customers.”
The year 2018 marks the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening-up, and it is also the eighth anniversary for Jaguar Land Rover in the Chinese market. Since its entry, Jaguar Land Rover has followed the market closely and achieved a remarkable performance, as follows.

Technology and innovation: Leading technologies have been introduced to China on a timely basis, such as aluminum body architecture technology and the Ingenium 2.0T powertrain. The coming of the new all-electric Jaguar I-PACE brings Chinese consumers an entirely new mode and experience of traveling. Starting from 2020, every new Jaguar Land Rover will have the option of electrification. As a major step to strategically position itself for the China market, the British premium car manufacturer has launched its new future mobility strategy called “DualPower, Dual-Innovation”. This means Jaguar Land Rover is coordinating technical efforts both in the UK and China for simultaneous research, and teaming up with local partners, in a bid to develop innovation and create a dual innovation ecosystem featuring comprehensive and open cooperation between Jaguar Land Rover and its partners.
Under this strategy, Jaguar Land Rover has started exploring strategic cooperation with five Chinese technology giants, namely, China Unicom, Alibaba, Baidu, Pateo and CATL, in the fields of future connected driving, big data, 5G/V2X and electric vehicle battery technology, respectively.
Warmly welcoming China’s pledge to further open up its market and the opportunities offered by the CIIE, Jaguar Land Rover has infinite faith in the Chinese market as this means even better market access and huge potential for multinationals. The UK’s largest automotive manufacturer has been deeply committed to growing with China and providing experiences Chinese customers will love for life.
