Innovative warehousing showcased at CIIE
A multishuttle warehousing system which uses the latest technology from Dematic is being showcased at the China International Import Expo. The system improves efficiency in the intelligent warehousing and logistics industry.
Cranes are typically used in automated storage and retrieval systems, but in the multishuttle system, a fleet of self-propelled carts work to retrieve and put goods in place in an ultra spaceefficient way.
At the same time, a series of advanced engineering and technology upgrades have been incorporated into the system, such as lightweight aluminum construction, a new load extractor for faster operating speeds, higher payload capacity and multi-deep storage capability.
Designed to supply sequenced products for order fulfillment, picking or mixed case palletizing, the system can be utilized in a wide range of applications from short-term buffer storage to production support, the company said.
“The new-generation multishuttle plays a revolutionary role in the storage, delivery sequencing process of goods in high volume order fulfillment operations. It delivers goods faster and is more cost-efficient in storage and precise in sequencing, which greatly optimizes the supply chain,” said Jeff Moss, CEO of Dematic International, during an introduction at the CIIE.
So far, the new-generation system has been widely used around the world.
