Hot words: Government service evaluation system
Premier Li Keqiang said in the Government Work Report that he delivered to China’s national legislature on Tuesday that China will establish a government service evaluation system, which will let businesses and the public judge if the service is up to scratch.
Li said delivering a good service is what a government is meant to do, failure to do so means it is failing in its duties.
According to Li, China will continue to pursue the Cut Certificates to Create Convenience reform initiative so that businesses and the public are not saddled with running from pillar to post for certificates.
The proposed government service evaluation system is a new milestone in government service reform.
Government services are a key factor in regional competition. The government service level in some economically less-developed regions lags far behind that in the more economically developed regions, and the poor government service level undermines social and economic development in local areas. It is a vicious circle that we should break.
With the rapid development of Internet Plus government services, it is expected that the public can easily provide feedback on the government service they receive online, which will actively help local authorities to improve the quality of the services they provide.
