This year, the vintageinspired Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe of 2013 extended its range by introducing a 38 mm timepiece attired in abyss blue. The blue shade represents Blancpain’s commitment to the depths of the oceans and various key characteristics model after the first editions. For the perfect finishing touches, the steel bezel features a blue ceramic insert and hour-markers in Liquidmetal®, an alloy known for its deformation resistance and longterm stability. Dive functions include a unidirectional bezel rotating counter-clockwise by small notches, a luminescent dot on the bezel to serve as an index for divers and accurate alignment of the minutes hand to define the start dive time, water-resistant to 30 bar, and powered by Caliber 1150.
