A new shop-in-shop opens in Tokyo’s most famous upmarket shopping district
Matsuya Ginza in Tokyo, Japan welcomed a new store in January 2017. The new Blancpain shop-in-shop is strategically located in Tokyo’s most famous upmarket shopping, dining and entertainment district. Patrons can visit it at the 4th floor of Matsuya Ginza, which faces Chuo-dori, the main shopping street in the Ginza area, and home to many other department stores, restaurants and cafes.
This move reflects Blancpain’s proud history and commitment to the expression “Innovation is Our Tradition”. Cabinets are handcrafted from the Vallée de Joux, the interior design imbued with regional heritage and the Blancpain horological know-how perpetuated for more than 270 years. Noble woodwork, refined moldings, along with pure streamlined furniture also evokes a warm and cozy aesthetics for patrons.
Throughout its history, Blancpain has distinguished itself by its capacity to develop exceptional movements that have made their mark on successive era. Blancpain’s strength lies in its in-house development and precise production of the components and tools; manual assembly of each movement by a single master watchmaker; refined and entirely handcrafting finishing right into the most minute detail.
Products on display includes creations from the bold L-evolution Collection, legendary Fifty Fathoms diver’s watches as well as the classic Villeret timepieces and the elegant Women Collection. The latest model is the Bathyscaphe Chronographe Flyback Ocean Commitment, an integral part of the project and forms the second of a series of limited-edition diver’s watches for the brand. Only 250 pieces are available worldwide, with the brand donating 1,000 Euros per timepiece to the organisations that support the Ocean Commitment Programme in conservation of our seas.
