WILSON STAFF D300

A progressive head design means the higher lofts have smaller heads so you get maximum forgiveness in the longershafted lower lofts. Micro vortex generators on the crown reduce drag.
WE SAY:
The D300 is a book you really shouldn’t judge by its cover. Its tiny but wide head looks more like a little fairway wood than a hybrid. And initially we thought the size could zap confidence from the very golfers it’s designed to help. Yet the results were remarkable. Our pro said it was the best Wilson club he’d hit throughout the whole of our tests. And Simon was caught off-guard by its ability to launch shots higher without robbing him of yards. The D300’s shaft weighs in at just 54g. That’s 28g lighter than some of the competition, and we felt it gave a really positive, responsive feel and meant the D300 carried shots three yards further than the average.
VERDICT:
If your buying criteria includes ease of launch, forgiveness, good distance and ball speed protection, the D300 is difficult to beat.
