The 765’s slightly smaller head (445cc) is aimed at faster swing speeds. The smaller size is easier to shape shots with while a “power wave sole” allows the entire sole to flex, enhancing spring back particularly when shots are hit low.

WE SAY:

There weren’t many big surprises when it came to our Top Gear testing – but this was one of them. It’s an absolute beast in the right hands. Our test pro recorded one of his longest average carry distances and a huge 311yard single carry with it. The performance is explained by how Chris Ryan impacted a lot of shots lower in the face, which the 765 is specifically optimised to respond to.

VERDICT:

We’d never recommend a smaller headed driver with no alignment aid to the golfing masses. But if you’re a better player who tends to hit shots low in the face the 765 is well worth trying.
