driving range driving you nuts?

-

At a social round recently, I received a very rare and uplifting comment with regards to my swing, and that I must be hard at work at the range often. Truth be told, the last time I was at a driving range, it was to attend a product launch and demo, which was well over a year ago. Compared to when I first got hooked, I have not been to the range regularly to fine-tune my swing and shots. In the past I would be very diligent with my practice sessions, taking the time to arrange regular weekly sessions with my golf pro, arriving earlier to warm-up and staying for at least another hour to recap what was taught, and even popping into the range to just practice, or rather smash balls in the vain hopes of crafting the ideal swing. But work and family time took precedence over my increasingly futile attempts to emulate Rory’s swing. And each time I took to the course it was hit and miss, literally! But reading how Alex Noren, the current world number 9, improved his game and world ranking by shunning the driving range and adopting a different approach to training, is intriguing and made me feel there’s hope yet for me! Because if you compare how players such as Vijay Singh spent so much time at the range perfecting their game, it would seem a travesty to not be slogging at the range. Turn to page 44 and find out if Alex’s method interests you enough to take it up and if you do decide to, it actually isn't very difficult to begin adopting it.
