With its contribution to Only Watch 2017, the Swiss manufacturer ARMIN STROM has given new meaning to the concept of the watchmaker’s art. Featuring Hunt Slonem’s art on the dial side, decorated and hand engraved at the highest level.

AUDEMARS PIGUET ROYAL OAK PERPETUAL CALENDAR ONLY WATCH

This unique piece features a skylight-blue “Grande Tapisserie” dial, polished counters in solid grey gold and orange-tinted photo-realistic moon, combined to an entirely hand-finished black ceramic Royal Oak case, bezel and bracelet, creating a one-ofa-kind colour palette. This is the first perpetual calendar wristwatch featuring a black ceramic caseback with sapphire display revealing a hand-finished black oscillating mass.

In its third contribution, “Red Passion”, Chronoswiss pays tribute to the eternal power of love and passion incorporated in the different shades of red on the stunning 3-D dial with its guilloché bottom. This fascinating timepiece is yet another example of the fine craftsmanship manufactured by Chronoswiss. Flying Regulator with elaborate 3D dial construction and guilloche decoration featuring a unique colour of dial in “Red Passion”, matching the colour of the rotor and also the watchstrap that is individually manufactured by hand for this unique timepiece.

Featuring the case of Dewitt’s iconic Academia model, the watch proposed for Only Watch 2017 will display the dial imagined by its new owner and hand-crafted in the Manufacture.

CHRISTOPHE CLARET MAGICAFIORE DE CHRISTOPHE CLARET

For Only Watch 2017, Christophe Claret created an authentic artistic approach in giving life to the Magicafiore watch. It invites two dragonflies to indicate the time. Pressing the pusher at 2 o’clock reveals the inscription in French “Pour l’amour de la vie” (For the love of life) while on the front, the oscillating weight plays the classic “He loves... he loves me not” game. Magicafiore, an exceptional and one-of-a-kind timepiece, which hides the time display to reveal a personalized message.

LAURENT FERRIER X URWERK LFUR

The story started behind the watchmaking scenes. It was in November 2015 at a watchmaking exhibition like many others, thousands of kilometres away from Geneva. There, two watchmakers, exiled from the cocoons of their respective workshops, made a tentative effort to escape the crowds and take a break. Slightly bewildered by friendly bustle, they sought refuge under a staircase. They hardly knew each other, though their paths had crossed, but destiny seemed to have brought them together. Thus did Laurent Ferrier and Felix Baumgartner meet.

Based on a round watch, this unique work of art will feature several shades of black highlighting the various components of this mechanism with its distinctive display mechanism. The first watch to feature the blackest material ever produced by humankind, Vantablack.

LOUIS MOINET METROPOLIS ONLY WATCH

For its first contribution to the Only Watch charity auction, Ateliers Louis Moinet has summoned the very essence of its knowhow. The firm has produced a unique timepiece, “Metropolis for Only Watch” – a most worthy successor to Mr Louis Moinet’s own Compteur de Tierces from 1816, the first chronograph in history, which was also used for observational astronomy.

LOUIS VUITTON ESCALE SPIN TIME BLACK & FIRE

For this 2017 edition, Louis Vuitton is presenting a “Black & Fire” version of the Escale Spin Time watch. Three shades – orange, yellow and red – can be found at the centre of the Louis Vuittondesigned movement, as well as on its distinctive dial for a free and contemporary reinterpretation of time display. Orange has come to symbolise the collaboration between the House and Only Watch.
