Goodwood Festival Of Speed 2017
The world’s largest automotive garden party
Staged every summer since 1993, the Goodwood Festival of Speed is set against the spectacular backdrop of Goodwood House in West Sussex, UK. Over 600 cars and motorcycles spanning the phenomenal history of motoring and motor sport take part with some of the most legendary figures from the sport as well as international celebrities regularly attending. Highlights this year included the Moving Motor Show, Forest Rally Stage, Michelin Supercar Paddock, Michelin Supercar Run, F1 paddock, Drivers’ Club, GAS Arena, Cartier Style
et Luxe Concours d’elegance, Aviation Exhibition and Bonhams Auction. Festival goers enjoyed a joyous weekend of motorsport, with highlights based around this year’s ‘Peaks of Performance – Motorsport’s Gamechangers’ theme, paying tribute to the high-watermarks of motorsport.
In addition, Goodwood paid tribute to 70 years of Ferrari, 110 years of Brooklands, Tom Kristensen’s 50th birthday and the 20th anniversary of his first Le Mans win alongside welcoming a veritable host of legends of motorsport including current World Champion Nico Rosberg and an iconic creation by sculptor Gerry Judah - jointly presented
by Goodwood and Formula 1 in celebration of the extraordinary life and career of Bernie Ecclestone.
For the first time, Goodwood opens the doors on FOS Future Lab, an exhibit exploring the travel, transport and technology of the future, featuring autonomous Robocars, VR drone racing, flying cars, never-seen-before NASA photography and much more. The four-day event culminated with Goodwood’s first ever drift competition including all the current stars of the drifting world and finally the spectacular Sunday Shootout where the fastest champions of the weekend will compete for the title and the trophy.
