SIME DARBY LPGA MALAYSIA

-

Major winners Ariya Jutanugarn and Danielle Kang, along with Sime Darby LPGA 2015 champion Jessica Korda; have joined Lydia Ko and Brooke Henderson in confirming their attendance at the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia, which returns to TPC Kuala Lumpur from 26th to 29th October 2017. The championship, now in its eighth showing, has garnered a reputation as one of the most entertaining events on the LPGA calendar, and is unlikely to disappoint this October, with an action-packed spectacle planned both in and outside the ropes. Once again embodying the slogan Women with Drive, the championship will serve as an inspiration to the next generation of Malaysian sportswoman. Meanwhile, as with each edition since its inaugural year, the event will again showcase its support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with players donning pink on the penultimate day of the tournament, to raise funds and awareness for the fight against cancer in Malaysia. The fundraising has enabled Cancer Research Malaysia to increase awareness about breast and ovarian cancer among Malaysian women, especially those from lower income households, as well as improve their access to treatment. The eighth edition of the US$1.8 million purse Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia will take place on the East Course of TPC Kuala Lumpur with a total of 78 players, including 63 players from the LPGA Tour will compete in the 72-hole stroke play, no cut tournament.
