Bettinardi describes the Inovai as the perfect MOI putter. A lightweight aluminium face is fused with a heavier stainless steel sole to deliver extreme perimeter weighting, which he says promotes a stable stroke and larger sweet spot. We’re not quite sure why, but boutique putter manufacturers are usually much more well known for their sleek, slender blade and mallet designs than for brilliant MOI models. But if stable MOI designs are your bag, we reckon the Inovai’s a sound choice. The aluminium face and groove pattern, which means the ball only ever hits 45% of the face, means a brilliant soft feel, without an insert. The heavy steel sole and back section stealthily raise MOI performance, which helped the Inovai swing really smoothly, even on less than perfect strokes.

TOP GEAR VERDICT

100% Cnc-milled putters aren’t cheap, so It must be hard for their makers to watch cast putters gain traction on tour and get closer and closer to their price. You won’t find lots of milled MOI putters, so if it’s precision milling you want, you’ll struggle to find better than the Inovai.
