Wilson Staff Infinite The Bean

-

www.wilson.com Headweight: 365g Grip: Wilson Infinite Toe hang: Face-balanced

TECH:

A large, flanged mallet with extra weight in both the head and grip to create a counter-balanced model. A double milled face ensures precision while parallel and perpendicular sight lines simplify alignment.

WE SAY:

The Bean could be more mallet than MOI putter, but because it has a particularly big, wide head and benefits from a substantial amount of counter weighting, we reckon it weighs in as a decent MOI stability option. The alignment lines have been paired back for 2018. Though Bean can’t boast a face insert like lots of leading models, but all three testers thought it felt good and had the ability to roll putts along the green’s surface right alongside the very best models. The face-balanced Bean is well suited to straighter putting strokes, and its heavy, oversized grip offers a decent amount of counterbalancing. So it’s decent introduction to both counterbalancing and MOI putters.

TOP GEAR VERDICT

The Bean’s head is cast then the face CNC milled, which is very different to the 100% milled putters in this test. But it doesn’t mean the Bean lacked feel or roll performance, as it didn’t. So if you’re openminded, the Bean is a very solid option, for very reasonable money.
