Evnroll ER7

www.evnroll.com Weight: 370g Grip: Winn Pro 1.18 Toe hang: Slight

TECH:

Evnroll putters have a brand new face milling pattern which inventor Guerin Rife says gives a progressive energy transfer. That means putts hit offcentre roll virtually the same distance as on-centre hits, so you get new levels of accuracy and consistency.

WE SAY:

Think you’ve seen the ER7’S head shape somewhere before? There’s every chance you have. Evnroll was started by the same guy (Rife) who set up Rife putters, and the ER7 is very similar to the Rife model Justin Rose loved a number of years ago. Some will argue the ER7 is more MOI than mallet putter, but we reckon because of the compact head size it’s a great-looking mallet design. The story behind the Evnroll’s groove pattern is what separates it from others. The grooves are wider in the centre and narrower towards the toe and heel which Rife says regulates energy transfer, so off-centre hits travel just as far as on centre impacts.

TOP GEAR VERDICT

We can’t say for sure Rife’s variable width and depth grooves gear putts back on line, but we’re really impressed by how putts interacted with the face, and rolled. All testers loved the head’s simplicity, the weight and the oversized Winn grip, which sits snugly in the hands.
