TWG Tea’s 10th Anniversary
Brand’s global expansion with openings in London in Knightsbridge & Leicester Square
In conjunction with its 10th anniversary, TWG Tea announces its European debut with two Tea Salons & Boutiques in London at Knightsbridge and Leicester Square. TWG Tea has specially chosen these landmark locations to showcase the brand's new aesthetics. Drawing on Asian and European traditions, the concepts introduce a blend of contemporary refinement with timeless elegance, both hallmarks of the TWG Tea experience. Designed and conceived by Taha Bouqdib, the locations showcase TWG Tea's signature product offering of over 800 varieties of fine harvests and exclusive tea blends, as well as tea accessories and tea-infused delicacies.
The 18th century Knightsbridge terrace house location features a retail boutique with a patisserie counter and an intimate 40 seat Tea Salon nestled within an elegant London neighbourhood. Meanwhile, the 1920s Communications House in Leicester Square has been transformed into a retail boutique with a
patisserie counter, a 120 seat Tea Salon flanked by a dramatic stairway, adorned with antique Chinese screens on the balustrade and the world's first TWG Tea Museum featuring exceptional vintage artefacts and antique tea wares from all over the world.
Since TWG Tea first entered London in 2009 at Harrods, it has observed an increasing demand year-on-year for gourmet tea. With presence in five out of six biggest tea producing countries in Asia including China, Japan, India, Vietnam and Indonesia, TWG Tea will be the first global luxury tea brand from Asia to launch strategically in London.
Since 2008, TWG Tea has launched in 19 countries with 70 Tea Salons & Boutiques in Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Dubai, Vancouver, Taipei and Seoul and is distributed across 42 countries. Marking 10 years of global expansion, TWG Tea continues to break down barriers as the most iconic global luxury tea brand to emerge from Asia. With its entry into India in January 2018, the brand continues to extend its reach with locations in nine out of the 10 top tea producing countries in Asia including China, Japan, Vietnam and as well as across the Middle East and North America.
