The World of Baume & Mercier
A New Horological Partnership Announced
In celebration of their new partnership, F J Benjamin and Baume & Mercier cohosted a launch event showcasing the brand’s historical museum timepieces, new Baumatic collection and 2019 novelties.
Guests arrived at Brixton 23 - a gentleman’s speakeasy bar and restaurant, and were led through a secret wardrobe entrance to enter the world of Baume & Mercier. Greeting them at the start fo the journey was a historical wall showcasing the brand’s heritage video, and eight vintage watches which were flown in from the Baume & Mercier Museum in Geneva.
Arriving in Malaysia for the first time, these priceless watches were chosen from significant periods in the brand’s history; an 1850’s pocket watch, an 1950’s complete calendar chronograph, and delicate ladies timepieces from the Art Deco period through to the 1970’s.
Walking through four benefit stations, guests were introduced to the first Baume & Mercier collection equipped with an in-house mechanical movement; the Baumatic. Created as a result of the brand’s 189-year watchmaking expertise and after five years of research and development,
Baumatic was designed to provide innovative solutions in the four distinct areas of power reserve, chronometric accuracy, sensitivity to magnetic fields and durability.
Also on display were the exciting new 2019 novelties from the Classima and Clifton Club collection, an assortment of men and ladies timepieces with elegant or sporty designs. Guests also enjoyed a personalized pocket square monogrammed service for the afternoon.
