Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36
Rolex’s Datejust is the archetype of the classic watch, never going out of fashion. Launched in 1945, it was the first self-winding waterproof chronometer wristwatch to display the date in a window at 3 o’clock on the dial, and consolidated all the major innovations that Rolex had contributed to the modern wristwatch until then.
Now there are two new variants of the Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36 in white Rolesor, combining the elegance and strength of Oystersteel and 18 ct white gold.
The first version has a refined, black sunray-finish dial and fluted bezel, while the second combines a white mother-of-pearl dial with 10 diamond hour markers in 18 ct white gold settings and a bezel set with 52 brilliant-cut diamonds. The light reflections on the case sides and lugs highlight the elegant profile of the 36 mm Oyster case.
Robust and elegant, the Oyster case of the Datejust 36 is guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 100 metres. Its middle case is crafted from a solid block of particularly corrosion-resistant Oystersteel, while the case back, edged with fine fluting, is hermetically screwed down. The winding crown, fitted with the Twinlock double waterproofness system, screws down securely against the case. The virtually scratch-proof sapphire crystal is fitted with a Cyclops lens at 3 o’clock for easy reading of the date.
Both watches are equipped with the latest calibre 3235 first introduced in 2018, a new-generation movement that extends the power reserve to approximately 70 hours. This self-winding mechanical movement led to the filing of several patents and offers fundamental gains in terms of precision, power reserve, resistance to shocks and magnetic fields, convenience and reliability. Like all Rolex watches, the Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36 is covered by the Superlative Chronometer certification, ensuring excellent performance on the wrist.
One of the new white Rolesor versions of the Datejust 36 is fitted with a Jubilee bracelet, the other with an Oyster bracelet. Supple and comfortable, the five-piece link Jubilee bracelet was specially created for the launch of the Oyster Perpetual Datejust in 1945. The Oyster bracelet, introduced in the late 1930s, is a particularly robust metal bracelet with three-piece links.
Both bracelets are fitted with a folding Oysterclasp and include the Easylink comfort extension link, that allows the wearer to easily adjust the bracelet length by approximately 5 mm.
A concealed attachment system ensures seamless visual continuity between the bracelet and case.
