DBX Signals A New Era Of Exceptional Performance

-

Ushering a bold new chapter and a landmark moment in Aston Martin's illustrious 106-year history, Aston Martin unveiled the DBX, the marque's first ever SUV intended to propel the brand to new heights worldwide.

In a significant moment timed to coincide with the global launch of the DBX in Beijing, Singapore was chosen as one of the privileged cities in APAC to host the exclusive

DBX which was unveiled by Mr Victor Kwan, Managing Director, Prestige Division, of Wearnes Automotive, and Mr Patrik Nilsson, President of Aston Martin Asia Pacific, in front of more than 170 illustrious guests and VIPS at the brand-new Wearnes Automotive Centre. This integrated lifestyle facility which opened its doors in November 2019, spans over 200,000 square feet across eight storeys.

According to Mr. Nilsson “When we started

our journey with DBX over 4 years ago, we had just shown our Design Concept at the 2015 Geneva Motor show. Today, DBX is set to occupy a very special place. Beautiful design with a spacious and practical body .... swathed in the luxury materials and craftmanship that are synonymous with contemporary Aston Martin luxury.”

The 4.0L, twin-turbocharged V8 DBX is nearly five years in the making and is the fourth car to launch from the British marque's Second Century Plan, a strategy that will see Aston Martin expand its portfolio with the launch of seven core models over seven years; the first was the DB11, followed by the Vantage, DBS and now the DBX.

The next three models will be the production version of the Vanquish Vision Concept, which was showcased at the Geneva Motor Show 2019, as well as an SUV and saloon from Lagonda, a British luxury marque that has been owned by Aston Martin since 1947.

The all-wheel-drive DBX sits on a completely new chassis and has an overall kerb weight of 2,245kg. Its engine, an updated version of what's found in the DB11 and Vantage, is mated with an efficient ninespeed automatic transmission, and capable of producing 542bhp and 700Nm of torque. Positioned as an everyday car with sports car qualities, the DBX jets from zero to 100km/h in merely 4.5s, and has a top speed of 291km/h.

DBX signals a new era in Aston Martin's pursuit to deliver exceptional performance, style and usability in a segment previously unexplored by the world-famous manufacturer. Bringing both the versatility and indulgence expected of a luxury SUV with sports car levels of dynamic performance, DBX sets a bold new standard in this sector.
