Chef-owner Emmanuel Stroobant of two Michelin-starred Saint Pierre, a contemporary French restaurant with a history of fine dining excellence since 2000, unveiled Virtual Saint Pierre – a new culinary experience where diners could indulge in the restaurant's elegant contemporary French cuisine in the comfort of their own homes while enjoying a virtual get-together with friends and families via Zoom video conferencing.
The cuisine is guided by Chef Stroobant's philosophical approach to simplicity and quality of produce, and the unique dining experience begins with Saint Pierre personally delivering a specially curated omakase meal to the diner's home in a premium bento box. Diners enter a virtual room on Zoom, and once all guests have gathered, Virtual Saint Pierre commences with an appearance by none other than Emmanuel himself, interacting with guests and introducing the menu's selection. The party then continues at the guests' leisure.
“Trying times like what we are experiencing right now have only spurred us further to be more innovative with our approach to dining. Virtual Saint Pierre is our way of bringing friends and families from different parts of Singapore together, bonded by a shared love for fine cuisine and sparkling conversation,” shares Emmanuel.
In 2017, Saint Pierre introduced an adventurous 26-course A-Z menu which showcased Emmanuel's creativity and respect for quality produce in a selection of light, starter-sized dishes. The menu for Virtual Saint Pierre takes inspiration from the A-Z menu and consists of eight dishes presented in the form of a premium bento box. Lift the box's lid and be treated to a selection of amusebouche, starters, mains and desserts.
While such a dining affair is almost unprecedented, Saint Pierre is equally committed to delivering an exceptional gourmet experience as they would if guests were to visit the restaurant. Hence, the menu maintains its emphasis on the quality of ingredients that it uses.
Rather than source through suppliers, Saint Pierre works with an exclusive source – almost akin to a personal shopper – who is able to procure premium ingredients to meet the restaurant's needs down to the most minute request. Inevitably, this means the menu for Virtual Saint Pierre changes according to the seasonality of ingredients. Still, diners may also request for a menu to suit their needs and dietary requirements.
With two menus for Virtual Saint Pierre, a minimum of 15 people is required, with a maximum capacity of 30.
